The same day ServeNext left Minnesota, More Peace Corps arrived on the scene!

Doubling the size and budget of the Peace Corps by 2011 is what one man hopes to achieve.

Rajeev Goyal was in Austin today as part of the More Peace Corps Campaign.

Minneapolis has the highest density of return Peace Corps volunteers in the Country and Goyal hopes to build public support to reinvigorate the Peace Corps.

Rajeev Goyal says, “We’re trying to build a movement to push Congress to give more money to what by all measures has been an astonishing program that’s basically operated on a shoe string budget for the first 47 years.”

We’re kindred spirits!  Now watch More Peace Corps or learn More Peace Corps…

  • This is already done. Peace Corps has a five year budget that basically doubles over the five year to a nearly billion dollars.

It is showing congress how to set five year ’sustainable budgets’ and other agencies are taking advantage too. The five year empoyment limit may be applied to other agencies to give more Americans a chance to serve.
